Just wrapped up two more items. Had only a week to finish both of these, what a mad rush! These were modeled by Sylei, Bounch and animated by Andrew Helenek.
Thanks Spacemonkey, thanks Trevor. Really appreciate the kind words.
Update:
Did a few additional passes on the Axe set thanks to some really great feedback. Have to say that Axe's head is one of the most challenging slots I've dealt with in a while. Ended up doing about 6-7 helm passes till I got something I was happy with. Kraken is currently working on this one.
Hello Creeow here. I am new to polycount, but that aside.
I dunno there is something about Dota 2 workshop artists that I find so inspiring. I am "aspiring" artist myself.
Oroboros, you are one of my favorite 2D artists on the Workshop. Much inspiring and cool designs.
Whenever I see 2D artists on the workshop, Iunno I hope to find some artist livesteram or speedpainting videos or something.
I have pretty much come across all you the Red Moon submissions and I love em all. I see you guys have grown a fan crowd.
Cheers.
Trust me there's a difference between illustrators and concept artist livestreaming: One is a hypnotic journey where you follow the birth of something incredible, and the other is a near-endless cycle of create-and-delete design drafts powered by sweat and tears.
I get what you say, Cottonwings, I myself have tried out the design process, and it's really frustrating to come up with something or that something appears to be good, well at least for my part.
But I would love to see some sort of marketing illustration video of sorts.
@Creeow - Thanks for dropping by, nice to see some aspiring concept artists in the workshop! I've wanted to livestream at some point but due to some of the projects I've been working on I haven't been able to publically show off the concepts.
After this month hopefully we'll transition into more 'open' projects that will allow streaming. It's fun to do and I'd like to get into it more.
As for marketing illustrations, keep in mind most of them are done using 3D renders that are painted over. It's the most efficient way of doing things due to time constraints.
@Cottonwings: No kidding, it really depends on the day. Somedays it's smooth sailing, other times it's hitting your head against a wall. Thankfully it gets better with time and practice.
Finished an axe set with Kraken. Realized he hasn't had any sets created for him in over 6 months. Learned some good things with this set, as it had quite a few iterations. It was one of those concepts that came together over time.
Been dormant on PC for a while, but thought I would update.
Been busy with a lot of quick turnaround stuff, but things are finally slowing down. Never liked concepting fast (And that's all it's been lately), so looking forward to taking my time on stuff going forward.
As an update, some sniper rifle concepts. If anyone would like to model one of these, please let me know.
Well, these were originally done for ESL One. The original plan was to pick one internally but the plan was changed last minute and it was turned into a community poll. So it looks like E is going to end up being the official rifle for that.
So yeah Zip, I guess that dib is on again.
@Primrose: Seems like you were beaten to the punch!
Dude, this is the definitive Timber set! And you are the furnace vent guy! Seriously, this makes timber look seriously dangerous and scary. Who is working on it?

Had about a day to concept everything, so pardon the roughness. Despite that I'm pretty happy with what we accomplished despite the tight timeline.

In the meanwhile this concept process guide will hopefully provide some insight, I did it a while ago but it might help: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=186809308
