Hello Polycount people! I've been lurking around polycount for too long without posting anything of my own so I'm going to go ahead and start throwing in some of my stuff here. Yay!
Here is one of the first full characters I made just in zBrush. I learned a valuable lesson with her about keeping subdivision levels if you want to ever pose something I posed her at about 12 million points and I had a lot of problems. She looked like chewed bubble gum and I was barely able to save her from it in time to turn her in for a class assignment. All in all I still liked how she turned out even though there are still a lot of funky things going on with her anatomy from the chewed up bubble gum phase of her life. :poly122: Some point soon I will go back to an earlier ztool, retop and rig her, and post that progress here.
And this is the reference sheet I used as reference to model her. Bethany Black is a character in the comic book "Strange Girl". It's a great comic book, I would highly recommend it . The concept of Bethany Black was made by Eric Nguyen.
And here is my last post for today. This is Peeface based on the concept art of Alex Chen. He got the name because in Alex's painting the expression of the alien reminded me of a submissive dog that might piddle soon. My intent when I recreated it was to achieve that expression.
And her is Alex Chen's concept that I based Mr. Peeface off of. You can find this work and other beautiful paintings at Alex's website: http://kineticflow.blogspot.com/
I love your stuff, I can feel a lot of movement/emotion in them.
I especially like the colors used for your Peeface scuplt, I think what could really help the presentation shine would to have that nice bounce lit in the back of his head, because right now hes blending a bit into the background and people may not be able to fully grasp the nice silhouette that they should be ogling at.
@royalshark, thanks for the kind words. I definitely see what you mean about Peeface. Even in Alex's concept there is a nice rim light happening that shows off that alien silhouette, so I might take another pass at lighting him and repost. @Harford thank you!
I hope to post more stuff soon!
Doing some shameless cross posting. This is WIP from Mixamo contest going on right now. She is a gutterpunk adventurer in the making. Still pretty rough but she's coming along
