LATEST UPDATE :
Bringing this over into it's own thread from WAYWO.
This isn't going to be a game res model, although I'm probably going to use it as an opportunity to normal map some creases and stuff in mudbox.
The original concept art is here :
clicky - It's a piece of art by an artist called Anarkitty, and the piece is inspired by Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds. I have spoken to the artist, and have permission to make a character based on it.
This was a screenshot I took from my skinning test. She deforms rather well. Next up is going to be finishing off certain areas (namely the hair) and then begin UVing her. I think I'll seperate her head off onto a separate map for sure.
I also modeled a Crow for this.
But it needs attention before It's ready for texturing. I might try and stylize it a little.
Cheers.

I've started doing UV's and a bit of texturing today.
Hopefully I'm doing this right.
I'm going to hand paint the textures, and then figure out the various layers for fast skin shaders. Right now it's all using a basic lambert shader, no reflections or specularity. That will be changed of course. I like where she's going. In the concept she is very desaturated, black and white, the skin has no variation (and it works really well in 2D - but I fear that wouldn't be enough in 3D) So I'm adding some subtle colour.
My plan is to have a few seperate texture sheets.
-Head
-Hair
-Skin
-Clothing
I was going to put the hair on the head sheet, but I wanted more UV space for the head. Though I could squeeze the hair into the clothing sheet or something.
-Skin shader currently sucks
-Skinning is terrible and super fast (Thus the pose is laughable :P )
-Textures are all work in progress
-No real shader work done yet either.
Think you translated it from concept to model really nicely so far.
The hands are atm the weakest spot. They look bit wobbly
