is there a way to put Textures on top of textures in 3DS max

im wanting to put a 2D door on a bitmap texture for 3ds max for a quick assignment for 3DS max but not sure how to do it.

Not used Max in a while, take a look at the blend or composite shaders. You could also just use a decal by overlaying a textured plane.

The composite shader is kind of crappy, the composite MAP is quite good, so use a standard material and in the diffuse slot put a composite map then load in your textures and masks and set your blending modes (normal, multiply, overlay ect).
