Indie Dev Team looking for a 3D Environment Artist.
The project:
A server-based, massively-multiplayer, semi-real time strategy game for mobile/web platforms. The theme is futuristic sci-fi with both planetary and space scenes.
The team:
We are a Vancouver-based small indie team of software developers and artists with programming, software architecture and project management experience.
Project status:
Game design and technical design are 95% complete and the project is comfortably into its development phase, with programming and server development in a moderately advanced stage. Our Lead Artist is focusing on concept/design and the bulk of the characters, we are looking to fill the role of environment artist currently.
Position description/details:
Model and Texture in game assets. Create efficient poly counts, Game meshes and texture maps.
Be able to enhance 3D Environment Art using budget conscious techniques like UV Animations, Tileable textures and just generally kick butt.
Using a game engine previously is a big asset. Unity, Leadwerks, Shiva.
Miscellaneous artwork. (theres room for helping with Ui, Icons, design)
Be able to take rough concepts and create full fledged 3D Environments with collaboration from rest of team.
Save!
Special Note:
There is no immediate direct compensation for the position as is the case with the whole team, but all members of the team are considered partners and will be involved in profit sharing - this is a project of passion for the team but we will be most certainly be launching it commercially and will endeavor towards its success financially. There is a possibility of raising funds from Kickstarter in the near future to help with compensation but there is of course no guarantee.
We are also unable to provide access to any graphics software and it is expected that the artist has access to all required software to complete the work.
*** Please see attached below:
- A screenshot taken in-engine showing work being done, of our military advisor and command center: The character is rigged, and the textures are placeholders to test performance.
- Several environment concepts that our 3D Environment Artist will have to build.
