Here are a couple of club designs I'm working on for Orge Magi.

Orge came upon a large Snapping Turtle sunning itself on a rock. Thinking the turtle would make a nice snack, Orge poked at it with is club. Annoyed the turtle latched onto the end of Orge's club and an innovation in weaponry was born.




Croc Cudgel. Orge's thinking here, the only thing more dangerous than a pointy stick is a crocodile tied to a pointy stick.

I dunno, in practice I'd be getting some pretty strong animal abuse vibes. I like the idea of using animal imagery for a club in some way or another, but having it be a "real animal" feels a little creepy to me.

I assumed the animals would be dead already? Could always use a turtle skeleton w/shell instead.

That is a consideration. I hadn't thought of these as live critters, though my drawings make them look very much so. Disturbing is not what I'm after, so I may have to rethink/ redesign the concept.

The turtle shell along may be workable.

I'm not making much headway on the design. But I am getting a lot of practice doing concept art.

Use a harder brush - don't be afraid to commit to hard edges. Working everything in with that soft brush not only takes longer but makes everything hard to read.

A lot of the forms look quite muddy still, a lot of the edges that you'd expect to be sharp aren't .
