Do you enjoy making complex things work easier and look cooler? TBA is an innovative software company focusing on simulation of container terminals in ports all over the world. Our clients use our advice and software products to make their terminal operations run more efficiently. In recent years, we see a substantial increase in what our clients expect from the animations that support our advice and products. We are therefore looking for an artistic talent to reinforce our team in Delft.
Job description: 3D specialist
TBA is a software and consultancy company with a strong technological background. A number of our business activities such as consulting and training depend heavily on 3D animations of our terminal simulations. As a 3D specialist at TBA your work starts at the point where our core technology meets our 3D environment, and goes from there to the more artistic side of things.
As a 3D specialist at TBA you will be co-responsible for the looks of the animations and animation products we deliver to our customers. We have a great range of standard components, but custom work is becoming increasingly frequent. Your activities will therefore range from the design and maintenance of 3D models in our object library, manual animation work (e.g. with Blender) as well as animation work supported by our own tools, and occasionally some scripting to automate parts of your work or to interface with our various technologies. Finally, we expect you to contribute to a research project where we are exploring the development of 3D training games for container terminal staff.
Like most of our staff, you will get to work on a number of challenging projects simultaneously. You will work in a small team and interact with project managers, developers, quality assurance engineers, and sometimes directly with our clients. In addition to the day-to-day activities, we expect you to keep up to speed with the latest and greatest in the world of 3D animations.
Our customers expect high quality graphics in the animations on the one hand and your colleagues will be expecting you to come up with cool solutions for their animation needs. Your artistic skills, your ability to work in a team and your analytic mindset are therefore required to help us to achieve all these demands. - Ability to combine artistic skills with an analytical mindset
- Affinity with a technological environment
- Ability to work autonomously as well as in teams
- Relevant experience (e.g. with Blender, gimp, inkscape, Unity and Ogre, and one or several scripting languages)
- Excellent communication skills and knowledge of English, both written and verbal
- Interested to join our office in Delft to be part of our continuous effort to improve our 3D capabilities.
