Vertex Groups being overwritten with Cubemap

Hello,

I have a scene where I'm using vertex maps to blend between different surfaces. I've applied a cubemap to the material using the TextureRenderTargetCube, and the vertex paint is overwritten to have all values = 1. Here's what it looks like:

The Good:

If you guys know what's going on and can help, that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
