Maori god Ruaumoko [WIP]
Hello all!
I've been working on a new piece the past few weeks for my portfolio. This is my interpretation of the New Zealand's Maori god, Ruaumoko. He is the youngest of the myth gods and is the source of earthquakes and volcanic eruptions.
The PS sketch is what I plan to get him to look like in the end.
I'm gonna update this as often as I can, all suggestions and critiques to improve this guy is highly appreciated!

Appreciate the input. But I wanted to stray towards the "world's strongest man competition" build rather than umaga's pudgy build.
Although, I am digging some of the accessories hes got on and his face tattoo designs for more referencing.
Your work look pretty cool but I think it is between two styles, realistic and cartoon. If you something Cartoon like in your reference on the right top of your mood board you have to retake the silhouette of your character.
If you want something less cartoon, refine your anatomy.
