Monetization Designer (f/m)


YAGER is seeking a talented and experienced designer to join our pre-production team on an unannounced title. The Monetization Designer will be responsible for creating and tuning our gameplay systems to maximize opportunities for thoughtful monetization. We want to offer our customers opportunities to personalize their game experience through micro-transactions without negatively affecting game-balance or segregating our player base. We’re looking for people who love the idea of working together in interdisciplinary teams within a flat hierarchy and a fast-paced and professional environment.
Responsibilities
  • Design, implement and balance gameplay features that support monetization from initial design to final polish
  • Develop monetization strategy and oversee day-to-day revenue management
  • Collaborate with the team across disciplines in order to ensure all aspects of the product support the monetization strategy; help raise team awareness of any feature’s impact on monetization
  • Seek out and incorporate feedback from the team, QA, and playtesters throughout the production in order to maximize monetization whilst minimizing negative impact on game experience
  • Stay up to date on competing games, focusing on evolving monetization strategies
  • Work closely with the Creative Director and product owners towards the game vision

Qualifications
  • Proven experience designing monetization features for released games
  • In-depth knowledge of cross platform games and micro-transaction based business models, desire to innovate and define new methods
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills; excellent ability to judge details vs. the big picture
  • Good understanding of the competitive landscape
  • Good understanding of full game development cycle
  • Superb written and oral communication skills (English)
  • Ability to work in interdisciplinary teams in flat hierarchy
  • Ability to deliver under deadlines and time constraints

Desired Skills
  • Previous experience with Unreal
  • Experience with Scrum and Kanban production methods
