WIP Dota 2 April Comp. Entry - The Curse of Boom Boom Doom

I was going with this set for a tribal polinesian look, because OM reminded me of a fat maori firedancer. I actually did no reference sketches for this one, i mostly googled some images, and used those as references. Kind of lazy, but I didnt have time at that point. Anyway, here are some pics that I used

Low poly for The hair and feathers with UV layed out and weighting.



Highpoly sculpt in Zbrush, I dindt really care about the feathers, since I didnt need a custom normal map for those.



I made the hair texture darker than the original hair color, and the feathers got a red tint, to match the heroes original color theme.



And finally an ingame test with all the masks. I only used the specularity and rimlight channels for this object.

You should give them full facial maori tattoos

Nah Im from hungary :P. And i actually thought about the tattoos myself, but changing the default skin of the main body is not supported at the time... But i could make some renders and post it separately, who knows, valve might consider it if it looks good.

you could always model the tattoo out and skin it to the face then attach it to another slot..
