Those chess guys are really cool. All attention is drawn towards the hands, which may or may not be desirable, depending on what you are going for. Care to share the thoughts behind it?
I'd encourage you to work on your volume & rendering of light/shadow as a whole.
At the moment, most of these look like they were painted in grayscale without regard to light source, and then dodge/burn tools were used afterwards with a soft brush to try and imply light & shadow. This probably wasn't the case in all (or maybe any?) of them, but that's how it comes off. Something else I might suggest, really try throwing some color into your shadows. At the moment they're all very "black", or just a simple "darker version of the object's base color" sort of thing.
