Portfolio for Internship

Hei, everyone! How are you? :)
I'm fairly new at 3D modeling and I'm trying to land an internship somewhere so that i can learn more stuff quicker. But since I don't know what the demands of the industry are, I need a little help in building a portfolio to use for applying.

Does the subject matter of my portfolio pieces count? Should I focus on low poly or high poly? Is there anything specific that should exist in it?

Any other advice is welcomed :) Anyone got an internship somewhere and would like to share some insight?

Thanks!

Just quick answers to your question:

Yes, depends (aim for both), depends on what you're going for (Characters? Props? Environments? Concept?).

Most of the big studios and places have either wrapped up or are wrapping up their internship applications this month, so you might have to mostly wait for next year.

Do you have a portfolio online currently to show? You might feel, understandably, that you have to be bloody amazing at 3D to even land an internship these days, heh.
