Bluehost has been great for me the last few years, 1 year hosting and free domain transfer/registration for about 100$. they also usually have some sort of promo running, my first year was only 60$ i think
iv used streamline.net and just host for several years, both offer very good service, unlimited bandwidth and different storage space options. never had any downtime either.
But, iv recently started using dropbox to host my site and its even more awesome!
I use ICDSoft, great customer service reputation (though I've never needed it personally), simple, and around $80 a year. Mine and many of my clients' sites are hosted by them.
I can second (third?) Bluehost as well. Been using them for years for all sorts of things, my personal portfolio site included, and they've always been great. If your site has any special needs, like high-bandwidth/storage or special scripts or environments, they'll work with you and help you figure it out. They're good.
bb0x, really? what url you go to? i got a tracker on the site and i had the usual amount of traffic as far as im aware...but i might be missing the problem
Andreas, yeah, just get a domain, and do a forward to the actual html file. Pretty much all domain services allows cloaked forwarding so your url will remain www.yourname.com and not dl.dropbox.com/1239012831/inde.html for example.
I just put a Portfolio folder in my public dropbox folder and forwarded the domain to the index.html in there.

"Oops! Google Chrome could not find www.johnnyraptor.com"
dreamhost
p. happy with them through 2 years, and they waived off my domain fees for this year, which is p. sweet
US customers also get occasional discounts and all that nice stuff.
I got my domains through NameCheap, and I get my hosting through Fatcow. Fatcow has cheap rates for the first year, and a really reliable service. My first year was $1 a month XD
forgot to mention in terms of support:
Bluehost has been fantastic, in the 3 years i've been with them i've only had 2 issues and they were able to address them within 20 minutes. Infact THEY contacted me when something was going wrong and i hadnt noticed.
Also built in editors are available. I used a wordpress builder so that opens up your template/plugin selection to the 100's
Fonfa, no man, it's been really smooth. The only downsides are, if your using cloaked forwarding, you don't have clean URL, so every URL will be your main domain URL, so you can't link like www.fonfa.com/article.html since www.fonfa.com will have to go to a specific HTML file.
You also can't run code on the server so no super fancy stuff.
Personally I find the pros to be enough to make up for it tho, specifically,
File revisions and reverting, save a file on your hd and your website updates automatically... And it's free!

How did you do that? Bought a URL from someone and then how did you go about the rest?
I've used these guys before and you only pay for what you use; super inexpensive.

Bluehost looks good. Seems to be around the same price range as my previous hosting and has pretty much the same features.
JohnnyRaptor.. so tried checking your website.. It's down. Guess Dropbox is not an option. =P
ICDsoft.. looks ok. I dont like that they are switching the "$" into a "€" for Europe though. $10,- != €10,-
Again thanks for the suggestions. I have made my choice. =D

www.pedramk.com is my main one hosted on dropbox
What fonfa said. Only I use FF.
edit--
I figured the link in your profile to be your portfolio as I couldn't find any other.

Now it's fine
Have you ever had any problems with people not being able to access your portfolio? I might move mine to my dropbox on my next update...
