Very nice stuff ! Excellent sculpts, I especially like the first creature and the female character with empty orbits. Too bad the diffuse hide them that much.
I also like the sexy female but I'm disappointed by her breasts, they look fake...
Thanks everyone, I will post a link here when the team does the zbc interview, the environment team and lighting team did such an awesome job. We are also having a show at the gnomon gallery in april, when I know the details I will post them, should be a good show for anyone in LA. The concept art is also so good, I am so humbled to work with such an amazing team of artists.
Is there gonna be an art book like there was for GoW3?
Oh yes, the art book is being made now by blue canvas, thw company was started by our concept lead Cecil Kim, so I M sure it will be amazing. I will post some wires soon.
Excellent work Arsh. I was a little disappointed with the in-game stuff in 3 (mostly due to shader stuff) but this is a serious step up, can't wait for the art book
Amazing stuff! This may be a stupid question, but has Zbrush and sculpting become the main form of creation with games these days? How were your epic sweeping sets built?
Hey guys check out the ZBC thread on page % for some environment work.
sorry been pretty busy, i will try and answer some of these questions
rollin : the shader are a bit dull imo. Are these editor shots?
An is there any reason why they are T-posed?
the one with textures are in engine taken from ps3 devkit,
the clay renders are from mental ray.
the ones in T pose are in T pose because i made them in T pose.
LanceUppercut: has Zbrush and sculpting become the main form of creation with games these days? How were your epic sweeping sets built?
It has been for the titles i have worked on for the last 6 or 7 years. if you goto the ZBC thread on page 5 i believe, the environment artists posted their work, you should check it out.
Marshal Banana:The mouths of the first two creatures always seemed strange to me, what with the huge, long teeth on top and no teeth on the bottom.
Also, could we see how the first guy's beard is modeled?
yeah that character was a bitch to make, because he is sooo big, the head changed 9 or 10 times, at first it was an octopus head with a beak, but that was funny looking, the reason the mouth is like that because the art director wanted to maintain the beak shape with teeth, if that makes sense.
and here is a wire of the beard.
