Hey all!

I'm currently on the final stretch of my last semester >:D I've got some final touches to add to my dissertation and then it's game over

As an addition I've put together a small survey (no longer then 5 mins), if anyone could take the short amount of time to fill it out I'd be truly grateful It's games related so it's safe for work and not mentally intensive ^^

For what it's worth, I don't have a hard-set preference between realistic or stylized art (and I don't think the two are mutually exclusive); I tend to be more attracted to things that do their chosen style well.

@Kwramm - My dissertation is pretty much about stylised graphics and their place within game art. It includes sections on realistic graphics and their future within games(including such things as the uncanny valley), a section on art style popularity and a big chunk on pipeline efficiency (for certain styles) and their potential profitability.

@Dissonance - Yeah I'm in the same boat as you personally, there is people though who are put off by certain styles or artistic execution and in some cases I'm sure it can effect the sales of some games (which is a section within my document to).

Done, I felt a lot of the questions will lead to subjective answers and won't give you much information regarding the place of stylised graphics in games.

For me a games tone should influence the style and vice versa. I'd imagine for publishers it comes down to what's deemed marketable.

@Kwramm - I'm doing a BA in Games Art at the University of Bolton (predicted 1st class to >:D).

@nathdevlin - I agree, this type of survey is indeed very subjective, even more so when I only have artefacts from released games to rely upon. For the most part this exercise is to further add to the research and practical activities I've already completed (You can never have to much research:D). It has given me some really good information thus far to! So thank you very much indeed!
P.S Loving the look of Drive Club Got my eye on the Evo career site daily waiting for a junior position to materialise :P

@Optinium - Indeed the more research the better, all about the summary and discussion of it. How I love dissertations :P DC is fun. As you've noticed we currently don't have junior roles but keep your eyes on the site
