Problem with Weird Shapes in Maya

So I've been working away on a class project for a few weeks now, and I'm getting close to final assembly of my assets for rendering, but suddenly a strange thing is happening. Here are some images:

This is how it looks in the preview window.

This is how it looks rendered.

Fixes I've tried:
  • Ensuring it's not multiple models on top of each other,
  • Reversing normals,
  • Saving and restarting the program,
  • Creating new materials for the models,
  • and Exporting and re-importing parts of the scene as OBJs into a new scene.

This project is due in 1 week, so I have plenty of time, but I have a lot of work to do and this upcoming weekend is going to be exceedingly busy, so any help would be super appreciated.

Thank you so much everybody! :)

Try increase the near clip plane of the camera. (Click on the little camera icon with a note next to it. its in the top left of the viewport window. Right under the word "view")

I have no clue if that will affect the render camera though.
What are you using to render?

Try switching to mental ray, if you cant find it try enabling it in the plugin manager (mayatomr.dll) or something

Another thing you might want to try is merging all verts that share the same position; ie the walls, if they're separate pieces, try combining them and merging the verts.

Thanks for the help guys. I tried those things and they didn't work, but I noticed when I was working how MASSIVELY HUGE the shapes were. The workspace grid was so small, it wouldn't even be a pixel in that screenshot above. I parented the whole scene to a locator, scaled it down like 2000 percent, and it looks fine. No idea why!

Thanks though, your advice made me realize this. I appreciate it!
