How do you turn those annoying latency-inducing ripple effects from rapid pen stroking off?

FYI I was able to turn off that circle when you hold down already.

What app are you getting them in? I managed to disable it in almost evertyhing pretty easily by just going into task manager->services->Tablet PC Input Service and setting it to disabled

Almost everything...

They showed up in 3dsmax still. I think I fixed it with the registry settings in this thread http://forum.wacom.eu/viewtopic.php?t=8036

I tried everything I could find on the internet before this including disabling the service, using windows add/remove features to remove the tablet support and disabling all the pen and touch crap in the options and they STILL showed up in 3ds max....

Thanks, the registry settings plus terminating wisptis.exe processes afterward helped.

Also, you can try to install an older version of the driver, in my case 5.2.4-6 solved the persistent ripple problems in Windows 8 too.

also, make some notes of what you did for future reference. some windows updates re-enable that stuff again.
