Hello poly. I Got a sculpt and want project normals onto my retopologized game mesh.
I've used 3dsmax projection but notice it caps detail.
I know there's a normal map feature in Zbrush.
What's the process.. Import the game mesh?
base on my personal experiences, the best way for creating normal is using Xnormal ! it free and more accurate compare to zbrush ! if u want learn about how to use Xnormal and zbrush pipeline here is a short tutorial : http://eat3d.com/free/zbrush_xnormal
but here how u can do normal maps with zbrush:
u can import ur retopologized game mesh to ur high poly zbrush mesh ! just ensure that while ur r importing the retopologized nesh, u already selected ur highpoly mesh ! after selecting ur mesh for import zbrush will ask if u want project ur new mesh to current mesh? then press yes ! then u can go to normal tab under Tool menu and create new normal map !
