Export lightmaps

So it seems that talking about lightmaps is quite popular in this forum, and I'm here to do my part! :) I'm working on a project with a friend and I'm doing the heavy lifting as I have a pretty stout PC. In short, I'm baking the scenes lightmaps, and then exporting them as packages and sending them off so my friend can do his programming wizardry. The problem is sourced from the lack of export options for lightmaps. My friend is receiving the packages and they contain the lightmap textures, but they are not applied to the prefab meshes. If he imports just one into a scene, it works. When he imports the rest of the prefabs to the scene, even with changing the array size, it doesn't apply the lightmaps to the rest of the prefab pieces. I've looked into "lightmap managers" that seem like they may work, but I would like to know if its the only way to solve the problem.
