Looks to me like it's simply got a set angle from the player, in world space, and there's a raycast being sent backwards from the player to the world along that vector. If it collides, then the camera snaps to the collision point. If it doesn't, then it snaps to a standard distance along that vector.

Uh, not that I know of, outside of general Unity tutorials.

I don't have time to write up the code but it shouldn't be too complex, seems a fairly simple camera system.

There was an MMO camera/movement video tutorial series somewhere that handled general camera movement in a similar fashion. If you can find that, you can add the raycast to it. Check out Physics.Raycast documentation on doing that.
