Had the same issues with modo to mudbox regarding the view port. If I zoom in or out too quickly I could never find the mesh. If the view port cube is gone then the mesh is too big for mudbox to work with.
The mudbox grid is in cm and your mesh is 80 square mtrs, too big.
You might have another problem but that's all I can think of, try scaling it down in max first or import the human body model into your max scene (182cm) so you have a scale reference.
