I was thinking about leaving it pure white but that seems to be everyone's reaction XD, so no, not done done. Going to be throwing up some color options later.
Figured I'd post the progress on my spring 2014 submission; I wanted to show in-game shots but the importer is still broke hah.
Only a few days left in the contest, I gotta pick up the pace if I want to finish everything on time.
i like the decision to add armour to her legs. her slot distribution's really top heavy, but the way you've split it up looks like a nice way of differentiating it
hmm, might be too much detail as spudnik said, although, are these screens using the down res'd game textures or a higher res working version? I know you can't get it in-game but maybe throwing on a quick diffuse (just the basic colors) and downresing to the game res and take a look. It might actually be ok. I know making something with a Chinese theme and not making it detailed was tough for me, because that's kind of what there known for, intricate details etc.

Thanks! Yeah, the top-heaviness of her slots bothered the heck out of me, so I wanted to try something different.

I think if you were a little more conservative with the swirls it would be less tiresome to look at. I think the chest piece is good though. Maybe if you were to remove some swirls and make some bigger on the rest of the armor?
Thanks for the critiques on the busy-ness guys; I talked to terra.cotta about it and I'd like to give him a HUGE shoutout for his advice on saturation and contrast for the set, it really improved the readability a ton.

I already have some in-game shots just without the mask, before the importer broke: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/2111872/LC%20Chinese%20New%20Year/Preview1.jpg
We'll have to see what it looks like with color but the texture density looks good at the moment, and the mask has higher density.
Flag finished, hopefully I'll have time to make a weapon before the contest is over, still have to do masks and promo images.
That's also assuming the importer glitch is fixed and I can submit at all
Finally, all done. Time to move on to new things
