I know I have seen a post for this somewhere in the forum. However for the life of me after going through "How you model dem shapes" and doing some search's I could not find it. I found something close to it but I believe it was done in a different 3D package. I am almost positive I have read a post about projecting higher res mesh for a pistol grip somewhere on here in max and that is what I am looking for. I was wondering if there is a simple way to do it in MAX or if this is something Slideknit would come in handy for. I have never used Slideknit however what I have read about it seems pretty interesting to say the least. What I am trying to do is I have a high poly model of a grip and would like to project the nobs like seen in the pic below onto it without having to model them in one by one into the model.Hopefully this makes sense and people can understand what I am trying to do...lol! I am knew to modeling so if I have botched this please go easy on me.

or something like the advanced painter script. Or just put them on using the normal align tool.

that'd be easier, though your unwrap would need to be perfectly straight there
1 is floating geometry which more easier to work
second way is planing out your poly flow which take alot of poly and alot of time
i prefer the 1st one
