Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3820 CPU @ 3.60GHz (8 CPUs), ~3.6GHz

Im new to PC gaming, so excuse my lack of knowledge for this. Thanks polycount!

I only have ARMA 2, so the names might be a bit different, but you should be able to figure out the new names easily if they're different:
Go to Options, Graphics Options, and there should be presets there (Low, Medium, High, Very High, Ultra. Try taking it down one notch.
An alternative is going to the Advanced tab and turning down some options, like HDR to medium, PPAA to something low (or off), MSAA to something lower (or off), slightly lower Terrain and Object detail, etc. It usually displays a real-time background to the menu, so mess with a bunch of things and see what changes you don't visually notice much, and lower them.
The Arma III steam page will have the required and recommended specs of the game. This goes for all games. Just for your future reference.
But those listed specs are the BARE minimum...and 'min specs' doesn't say much about being able to run it smoothly...thats what the 'recommended specs' are for. But, since its in alpha, there's likely still game tech optimizations to be done (since that's often held till late in the game creation pipeline), not to mention any graphics card driver updates that might be released in tandem with the game's official (not alpha)release. Thats a frequent occurrence with nvidia, as they can optimize on their end to give a better experience for some individual games.
I'm a arma veteran(playing since ofp1) and I'm able to run the game fine with the following specs:
Q6600 quadcore @ 2.4ghz
4gb DDR2 400 ram
GTX 275 OC.
I can't run it high, but it still runs, and runs well.
when I played around earlier today it ran fine on high.
ARMA lags when you try to have battles with more then 20 or so AI controlled units, and theres a lot of gunfire goin on.
Just check there ;')
Game runs better for me then ArmA 2 did for some reason.
Game looks like crap for the load its pulling, though. It looks really good in some areas but overall it looks like garbage because of Arma's infamous LOD quality. Looks great from far away, looks great up close... medium distance is a different story

I like it more than 2 already
@Flaagan, look at Tactical Gamer and kellys heroes. Two good servers, all modded though.
