ducckz: This means that we will have aloooot of time for this...:icon15:
I´ll work on some kind of demon/demonic creature(quite originial huh?!),
any specific concept so far, so let´s sketch it in zbrush and see what happens!
I found these two sculpts which I really liked for the challenge, so I'm gonna try to make it as a low/mid poly character using 3DS Max.
I'm new to the forums and I would like to know if these references are valid to create my character (I'm gonna replace the head from the half-body demon with the other head).
I'm going to be making a Chronomancer. The references I gathered are concepts done by the Guild Wars 1 team. They were suppose to be a playable profession in an un-released expansion called Utopia.
I'll also be drawing my own concept before the modeling starts.
Hey Desdmond!
Hmmm not really. I didn't get any reference from WarHammer... but i did a quick search to check if it looks like but their dragon looks way different
@Bruno_Camara : excellent so far. Do you normally work with such low poly base meshes? or are they stand-ins to which you replace with hi-poly created in 3dsmax/maya/etc?
Feel free to participate as well. There´s no awards anyways...:poly122:
The initial ideia was just to do something together, between friends and share part of the process in some forums...:poly142:
(my god...these smiles are awesome...:poly124:)
David Wakelin: Haha Fixed, thanks!
marianosteiner: I loved the overall gesture and the head! Any crits so far!
B.Camara: Go to the hell with your drawing skills...
Amazing man, this will be an epic dwarf.
Well, I tryed to start directly with some sketchs in zbrush. I´m looking for some "devilish" creature, something like an angel of death or devil of pain...something in this line...:D
I´m not sure about what I will do in the body...so I´m posting just the head so far.
A bit of diablo...but my main influence so far was JS Marantz!
Greatttt progress Melo! loved that pissed off face!
Soo here is my next wip:
Got the body remodeled and started to refine the major shapes. Sculpted some wrinkles just to set the weights of the skin. I want to give him a "old dragon" look..
Looking forward for some feedback and more WIPS from you buddies!
gyarados - Thanks, I normally start with placeholders like that so I can check proportions and have a better idea of what I'm going for. But They will be replaced by the new final base meshes.
Here's a bit of more progress on the armor,
I think I will definitely take off his mustache:
Thanks for all the support guys!
Here is a new Wip on the Dragon.
I've opened its mouth to work on it, sculpted the gums and blocked out some teeth.
And also started the hypnotic process of scales sculpting. I'm avoiding using alphas as much as possible, so 95% of what i did so far is sculpted by hand.

And some pretty cool refs too, Game of Thrones costumes are incredible!
So here is my start. I'll try to give him a reptilian visual instead of a "dinosaurish" aproach.
Don't have a name for it yet..
