ESCAPE - Hunter Escape- James Meader

I have an idea and plan to gather reference over the weekend and next week. I also plan to draw up some initial sketches to get the ball rolling.

My idea is a jungle tribe member who is the hunter of his community. He hunts small creatures from a far but one day is challenged by a predator of the jungle and does the sensible thing and runs to find an escape.

I intend this character to be of a slim athletic build. I hope by the end of this challenge to have a fully modeled and textured Hunter and environment. I will make it so that in the final render composition will show the hunter running away from something.

If I have enough time I may even be able to make the predator.

Really like this idea, maybe you could model just the head and front leg of the 'predator' and have them just entering on one side of the shot behind the hunter so people really get that feeling he is running from it

Thats a good idea, something I will consider.

I really want to focus on the human anatomy as this something I havent done much of.

I've already gathered reference from the film and plan to watch it tomorrow. It's going to play a big part in my look for the hunter but I also want to try and make something original at the same time.

*EDIT: Struggling to upload images into the thread. Just doesnt seem to be working.

Its a start, basic sketch whilst watching Apocalypto. I think I can push myself more. I really want as much detail as possible, I will try again tomorrow and may even try out some digi painting. I hope to start modelling on tuesday once I've gathered enough reference and studied more up on human anatomy.

Done some digital paintings, with each one I'm getting more confident and more into it. Its something I need to practice on for sure.

Im going to carry on painting until Wednesday and then its modelling time.

Finished a concept of the Hunter. Going to start modelling tomorrow. I may change certain accessories to the concept as all i'm concentrating at first is getting the anatomy right.



My digital painting still needs a lot of work.
