Some help from the commutiny please! DDO/LOTRO

Hello everyone. Yesterday i had a conversation with a friend about DDO (dungeons and dragons online). Im a 3d artist and i was trying to explain to my friend(playing ddo) what is a normal map. I figured that ddo have normal maps only on some walls and not on armors etc. So i decided to try to export some game files and make normal maps for some characters to show him the difference in his favorite game. I have found a .dat_unpacker online and managed to export .dds files(textures) but i cant find a way to import the 3d models into 3ds max/maya because i dont know the file format for the 3d models and i only get .bin files.

this is the program and the instructions (i can explain how to use it if you cant do it with the instructions given) **you have to use cmd.exe**
http://lotrounpacker.ucoz.com/load/1-25-0-1

in the client_highres.dat i have found the textures
i guess models are inside the client_mesh.dat but im not sure

So if someone knows how to do this or a way to figure out whats the file format turbine uses for their models it would be a great help.
Maybe its the same format as LOTRO if you dont know about DDO because the unpacker was for Lotro actually.

.DDS plugin for photoshop (to open textures)
https://developer.nvidia.com/nvidia-texture-tools-adobe-photoshop

I know that there are other ways to explain normal maps to somebody but i really want to do this with ddo models. So i dont want this thread to become a thread about explaining "what is normal mapping".

Thanks in advance and sorry about my english im not a native speaker. :(

Sounds like you're complicating things quite a bit, why not just take one of your own characters or something like UDK etc? :3

On that point either way, .bin sounds to me like it's yet another package file. Other than that I have no clue to be honest.

    Cheers

Its just an idea that i would like to actually make it come true. Those .bin files are not a package they are the actual files but we dont know the right extention for them, i know this because the .dds files were .bin files also.
