where is a 'joint' on the 'spine' of a turrent?
On the animation,he clearly bends that part, however,i can't see any moving parts there, just a big 1 piece 'spine'
From the concept I get the idea that the 'lid' opens differently, once the turret has reached it's peak the disc splits and moves along the slides staying flat until it gets to the end; once at the end of the sliders the disc halves can tilt.
i think your right but i like it how it is at the moment but i may change it so that it closes and opens faster and finishes before it gets to the end state
The mesh looks good, even prefer your cannons to the concept one.
Just one thing I thought about, what is the actual sense of it opening ? it could aswell just shoot through holes in the shell. It could have some spotlights under the cover showing up left and right, that would look good id say.
Looks pretty cool even if the animation is a little unnecessary, or doesn't follows the concept. I think you should just go with what you have. Sometimes embellishment is better than realistic actions.
