Working closely with the Art Director, the Character Artist will be primarily responsible for re-building and converting existing characters models in to new game assets.
Qualifications:
- Expert knowledge of the modeling application Maya
 
- Expert knowledge on how to properly build a character model for animation, specifically in games
 
- Can demonstrate a basic understanding of skinning in Maya
 
- Experience with re-topology processes
 
- Experience building characters between 2-4k triangles
 
- Can demonstrate strong use of UV layouts
 
- Experience baking texture maps from existing objects to new objects
 
- Experience using Photoshop
 
- Must be able to follow directions and be consistent
 
- Must be able to stay organized and communicate clearly
 
- Able to work independently
 
Pluses:
- Able to show previous character conversions or ports
 
- Experience using xNormal for baking
