I'm trying to do a sci-fi user interface for a school project. I'm trying to do something similar to the Swtor and Mass Effect user interface. I have sketched out everything, but I'm not sure if I should do this in Illustrator or Photoshop. I couldn't find any tutorials on how to start it off. I was wondering if someone could help me.
Edit: Also, after I pen tool it, should I break it into pieces?
Well, photoshop should be an 'easier' option,if u're definitive on your size and design due to its tools and picture manipulation.
On the other hand,if u do it in photoshop, and u want to resize some part of picture later,u're gonna suffer losses in quality for picture rasterizing.
Illustrator is vector based,so if u do your project in it,u'll have more space for later modifications to size, position and other atributes from your interface
I think you could really do this in either program just as easily, depending on what you're most comfortable with. Personally, I'd use illustrator - I find it a lot quicker than PS for clean vector shapes, and you could quite easily create a couple of graphic styles that would work across many elements with just a click.

Is the outside a glow or another gradient?
I'll do it in illustrator and then the layout is done in Photoshop .
Thanks for the advice
Maybe try some color shemes which are not blue aswell
Really? I like it and the colour.
