Here you can follow the progress of the MonkeyGirl project. Iconic Character by
Barth, poopy sculpting by yours truly.
Started in July, sculpt almost done, colors I don't know, 3d printing we're talking about it.
Progress is likely to be slow but I'll post updates here whenever.

Just one question : why did you chose to have her Tshirt stick so much to the shape of her breast? I guess it must be an artistic choice but it somehow bothers me as even the tightest Tshirt wouldn't make breasts look like this ^^
You really nailed the forms and the finish on this (kinda reminds me of irene matar, which is awsome). And a 3d print of this would cause my head to explode
agree with Popol about the shirt though.
+1 for me too please
@ Pior : you're an inspiration, mec !
@ spiderDude : Thanks for the heads up on the turntable, interesting.
@ Popol and Blaisoid : It's hard to answer because not everything is completely deliberate and thought over. I guess it's a stylistic choice and Barth usually draws the boobies that way. But I can understand it might look unnatural.
As far as 3d printing goes, it's unknown territory to both Barth and myself. Anyone having some experience in the field, feel free to share.
I already know the wheels stokes ( I hope it's the right word ) will probably be a problem so I might replace them with those which will hopefully be easier to print :
And then there's still the chain and the pedals which will be tricky and the tail too...
Anyway, as you can see there are still a few things to work out and then we have to find the best place to do the printing ( Would that be ownage ? ) and do a test print etc .... I'll post photos here when that happens.
As a general question, for those of you who might be interested, what do you think would be ideal size for a print of this particular model ?
cheers !
I was about to post the same thing, it looks ok for the style, but anatomically it should be an extension of the spine. It should also have less curve, I love the look of it, but again, anatomically, I don't think monkeys have the ability to make their tales bend in 3 separate ways at the same time.
Cheers!
I get the style and am okay with that, its just the intersection of her tail to the body. It looks to much like a wallet or a banana hanging out of her back pocket, only its her tail.
I am looking forward to seeing more of this.
AWESOME WORK!
I changed a few things : the bmx wheels and, following the comments, the way the tail was connected to the body ( I'll post a reverse shot soon ). I added a few things as well.
Would it be blasphemy to ask for colour?
^_^
thanks for the feedback everybody !! :poly142:
Medium quality print to check the model "in the "real" world".
12cm/4.72inches high.
Photos are a bit blurry, sorry.
Christmas is not far away !
But obviously, if I was to accidentally step on it, well, that would be another story...
@Noise: There will probably be a bigger, higher quality, painted limited edition print in the future. I'll keep posting updates on this thread ! :poly142:
