Creating seasons in CE3

Hi, i`ve wondered about this in weeks now but i cant ge up with an solution.
(how do you create seasons in CryEngine 3).:icon_question:
I came up with one solution but i dont think it works, If you could create 2 of the same material and make a LUA script that are changing material`s in the scene after a limited time.

(If its any other solutions i realy wanna hear about them).

you could do that yeah. Writing a global shader for the scene that uses direction vectors and that kind of effect along time of day would do it.

Seasons are mostly just changes in the light spectrum depending on how far away from the sun we are, so if you can set up multiple TOD and link them together that would work fairly well. I also remember seeing a vegetation set up where the grass grew and changed colors depending on the season. Look it up on CryDev.
We are doing something similar for Miscreated but instead of seasons, we're using it to create weather patterns that can play randomly.
