Ghost Recon Online F2P

Anyone else playing this? I have to say I'm not a fan of the F2P model but this game is pretty awesome so far. I'm only about lvl6 with each character but i'm kicking ass and I don't feel I need to spend any real money at all. The match making seems pretty good so far, teams tend to be fairly well balanced compared to other games that end up with stacked teams.

fav tactics atm: Assault class and shotgun (shotguns in this game RAWK!) and the heat ray thing. Playing "lone wolf". Use heat ray to get past enemy lines at weak points and then keep moving around behind enemy lines picking off people rushing to the frontline. These tactics would usually suit a recon class but they cant use shotguns. Getting some pretty big kill streaks playing like this, record so far is about 15.

anyhoo. would like to hear from anyone who is higher level. How well balanced is it up there and have you felt that you need to spend money to keep up?

Haven't played it for a bit now due to time and all but i've been playing it since cbt and imho it's really one of the best f2p shooters i've ever played. Everything is leveled and fair and you can't really get a real advantage (in my eyes) just using the cash shop in GRO. I'd really point this game out to anybody that's looking for a fun f2p shooter.

I played this a few months ago and really liked it. I'd totally recommend - it's lacking in quality in some areas (UI mainly) but totally fun.

@ aajohnny - Last i played it only took a couple seconds to find a group to play. Great thing is that in GRO you can actually do anything else wile you wait for the start. So you can first start the search and then sort your inventory, gear etc. so you don't have to get "bored".

also @ aajohnny: Yeah, plenty people playing. Takes me about 1 min average to find a server. But sometimes it does take longer but I don't think thats due to lack of players. I think its due to the matchmaking system, which I find takes ages in other games. (TF2 mannup mode is terrible)

On the one hand I hate matchmaking because it takes a bit longer but I have to say it must work in GRO as the teams are generally quite well balanced. Appart from the occational stacked team or a team with a few rage quitters.

Started playing today. It's a great game. Pace is really awesome. Really liking it. Probably will play with a friend tonight. I hope it will get more content though.

Yeah. Needs more maps and game modes thats for sure.

top tip: probably the most important stat on weapons is control. get weapons with good control.

It's cool; I love the cover system, it has more control than games I've played before.
