for my module at uni I am required to make a transformer so I have decided to make Metal Gear Rex.

any critique or advice on techniques or process would be great as I have never modelled vehicles before . thanks guys

just an update
i.e. the head has a small checkered pattern in the front and then a large checkered pattern on top. You want these to be the same size (as close as possible to each other) to guarantee no texture stretching...
BringMeASunkist yeah i know at the moment im just unwrapping each part first then i im going to combine it all together, at least i think thats right. this is all pretty new to me at the moment so kinda learning as i go
piko ok mate cheers, its only really big at the moment because as i unwrap i have things huge to start with then scale it down after once i unwrap everything, thanks for the feedback though (Y)
just noticed an pretty stupid error in the middle major overlapping my bad will fix in the next update
just wondering what is that curved strip on left middle of ur uv map ! u might be able to straight it if its not that big object !
You're not alone. I want to like this, I really do, but it's just really hard to comprehend at this stage. It doesn't help that most of the screenshots have distracting backgrounds or overlays ...
Maybe just a really big render of the mech, with perspective on, at a good angle?
