Unity to max - animation files

Hi everyone,

I'm working on a project in Unity (I finally got a job last monday), and I'm working on the main character, which is mostly animated using Mixamo Animations (we're a VERY small team and can't afford to spend huge amounts of time on great animations). To that end, I built a two-way rig that has controllers that are not linked into the bone hierarchy, yet control the bones all the same, and also are rotated by the bones themselves, that way setting up a way to import animations on the bones and be able to properly use the controllers.

Thing is, I can't seem to import .anim files or .fbx files from Unity to max properly - .anim files simply don't import, and the .fbx files contain a skeleton, but the animations are lost.

my question to you now is: is there a way for me to import mixamo animations into max, so I can edit them manually?
