So I started this guy today. Its just an old guy bust but somewhat stylized. I didnt want a super realistic character nor a super cartoony one so I decided to go with this one.

The main goal for me its to retopologize and bring him into marmoset. So far the head its pretty much done, I think. I'm working on the torso and the shirt at the moment. Hes gonna have a skinny torso and Im planing on giving him an old somewhat dirty tank top.

As far as hair, facial hair and/or any accessories whatsoever I don't have anything planed at the moment, so any ideas will be more than welcome.

Any comments and or critiques are highly appreciate it.

Update: So I finish the torso for my bust. I may have lost a bit of detail when I merge the two subtools but its not too much to make me go back and add tons of more detail. Next step is the shirt and retopo. Gonna see If I try 3D Coat for retopo.

So another update, even though it seems like a small one. Most of the tank top is done. Now I need to get the smaller details into it. The biggest thing for this update is the retopo. I posted a before and after retopo of the face. Both of the wireframe screenshots are at its highest sibdiv.

I used 3D Coat for retopo and I must its fantastic for at that.

Next it will be finishing the tank and doing some thumbnails for accessories and hair.

What application you making this for? Like movies or game.. Cues your low poly is not very low. There are some places you could optermise and replace detail with normal maps. The shoulders for example.

Good job though looks great, love the style.

Thanks JoshVanZuylen. I'm aiming this bust for games. The end goal is to texture it and take it to Marmoset. I guess the reasoning behind the shoulders was to get a better silhouette out of the character. But I see what you mean, there are places where I can reduce the polycount. I'll make sure to optimize the low poly on some areas before baking my maps.

    Thanks,
    Kevin

I had some ideas on what to do with the character but I dont know which one to choose. So I made some thumbnails so that you guys can help me decide.

If you have a better idea and think mine are not that great let me know, I'm still trying to figure out what to do with this guy.

    Thanks,

So I finally decided which options to go with. I started to do the assets a few days ago. I decided to go with 1, 2 and 7.

I already started the newsboy cap and the jacket. I need to retopo the hat so that I can in a add more detail. I'm gonna try to add the detail to the hat the way 'mr_ace' did the beanie for the 'Snowboarder Girl, next gen character'

He showed how he did it, here.

As far as the jacket goes I decided not to do a hoodie. I dont think it fits the character. So I decided to do something more like this.

Any C&C are always welcomed. Specially for wrinkles on the jacket and the hat.

    Thanks,
    Kevin

So I finished the hat. Didn't go crazy with the wrinkles since Newsboy Caps don't wrinkled as much. I played around with the seams and got this which I really like. It gives it more of a human touch (not perfect) to me. Hope you guys like it.
