Hi everyone. I know some of you have seen me posting up stuff with my GoKart iOS/Android project. Well I'm finally getting a coherent funding and marketing campaign together to get this game in production full time. Here is the new URL and web site I have up for the game. I'm also finishing up an IndieGoGo funding campaign to finance the game, but it's not live yet (so no links to it anywhere yet). I was working on a way to setup custom paint color and logo selection in my menu system for Super Kart Racing.

The awesome folks at PowerA are sending me a Moga Bluetooth Game Controller. They will help market Super Kart Racing and I'll enhance the game to be able to utilize this controller.



An awesome way for me to gain discoverability for the app!

Moga controllers came in the mail today. They set me up with the Pro controller and two of the regular controllers. What awesome people! Looking forward to developing with these and working with them on marketing!

They feel awesome, very much like holding a Nintendo DS or PS Vita.

It's not anything fancy, but the Android SDK is setup and working, it's integrated with Unity now and I can make builds to the Android device. Finally got the developer license (quite a bit cheaper than Apple's dev fee).

These are the first revision of menu screen mockups I've finished. More than likely they will undergo some changes to design or aesthetic, but for the most part they are solid. Looking forward to cutting these up and plugging them into NGUI atlases soon.

@notman - Hey thanks for asking. Yes they sure do, it's in there with the rewards. The actual game itself will be free to play so no issues with having to purchase a mobile version.

Finally have this track taken from 2d concept to full 3d environment. Proud to finally show off the first outdoor track for SKR (Glen Meadows). This is still a WIP, but very near to completion. Next up - to be placed into Unity and lighting baked in. As you can see from the face count, this environment came in very optimized, which is perfect for running on mobile hardware!

I've been pretty busy on this one. Here is a finished 2d track concept based on the real world location Rock Island, IL. This is basically the drawing I will use to model the track and place major landmarks.

Oh, ok. I thought eventually you would have a fee attached, for mobile devices. Good to hear. Looking forward to seeing the results of these outdoor designs

Well there will be two versions of the game. A free version and a paid version. So there will be both options for folks.

Remember, every reward tier (even the $5) gets a full version of the game for PC and or Mac.

Time lapse video of me setting up blueprints to model another racing kart. I will be doing an entire series of these all through the modeling, animation, rigging and texturing process. Basically up until it gets into Unity and is implemented in game.

Completed the layouts for a new outdoor track called "Taybor's Field". This is going to be one challenging track and should be pretty fun to race.

Well after much struggle I finally made the goal. Only 10 hours to spare. Will have some very cool updates within the next couple of weeks to show off. The AI pathing is completely redone (much cooler, more fun sliding physics), the position indication for player vs. AI is now 100% solid and working.

Proud to announce a partnership with the Commercial Point Racing Foundation, featuring the track for their annual event in Commercial Point, Ohio. This is a real world location for an annual Kart Racing Event that's taken place since 1968.

Latest concept: As you can see this track will have two events. It could become more if I decide to do night/day variations for the track.

NGUI tweening functioning, button sounds functioning and menu switching is working. Good progress on the menu. Tested on a Samsung Galaxy S2. Other test devices will include iPad2, iPhone 5, iPhone 3GS.

Development continues: You'll notice updated menus in this update. Local leaderboards are working, Settings menu sliders and buttons are all returning values and saving them. Credits menu is now implemented and awaiting being filled out with backer names from the crowdfunding campaigns.

Almost there. The base vector illustration is completed. Now to polish up with some paint scheme/decals overlaid. Have to pay special attention to this part of the illustration as I don't want to infringe by reproducing real world logos, etc. They will all have to be alternate or modified versions.
