Red Sonja old school

Hi, Been watching here for a long time but this is my first post.
Here is my version of Red Sonja a project I have been working on mostly at lunch times very enjoyable but now time to move on.
She is very clean I did plan to do a battle hardened pass but I doubt it will happen now.
There are a few things I am still not happy with mostly the hair but as I say pastures new.
I tried to keep the costume styling from classic images from the 70's and her proportions a bit beefed up.

Please feel free to let me know what you think. Cheers.

Really like the model, well done! The only that's bothering me is the hair. You need to get some alpha plans in there to create a silhouette that reads more like hair and less like a mesh.
Second thing that I dont like is the red around her lips, the first thought I got from that is cold sores.

Cheers for taking the time to comment, yep as I said at the top I wasn't to happy with the hair either. Maybe one day.

I think your proportions and texturing and poly flow are solid; but I agree with Popolo about her hair. It doesn't really read as hair, but as soft clay strands.

Also her face kind of bothers me too. I dont want to be mean, but she almost looks like a crack-head. Her eyes are open wide, and her cheeks are very sunken in even though she has a pretty plump figure. Painting in some separate teeth might help too. Right now I think it looks like he has a white mouth guard in.

I'm gonna have to agree with daphz; she her face looks like she's been hittin' the crack pipe. This is not unfixable. There are three things that are contributing to this:

    1. Her eyes. She gots dem crazy eyes right now. You need to bring down the upper eyelid and just generally decrease the amount of white that she's showing. At the moment she looks like she's freaking out because there's white visible around almost the entire circumference of her iris.
    2. Facial scars. The smaller ones aren't reading as anything more than red marks, so they look like sores. Instead of looking battle-worn, she looks kinda dirty. If you make these marks more directional and crisp, they'll read better.
    3. Sunken cheeks and generally chiseled features. Instead of looking stern and tough, she looks worn out because of how deep some of the creases in her face are. If you smooth out her face a touch and fill out her cheeks and jaw, she'll look much more healthy and her facial structure will seem much more in line with her body.

Her body looks great and I can live with the hair, but the face needs a bit more tender loving care before you should call it finished. A pretty face will forgive a multitude of sins in other areas.

I did a quick paintover to try and give an idea of what I'm talking about. It's definitely not perfect, but it may be a good starting point:

Thanks for the comments, maybe Iv'e been looking at it for too long but I can see what you are saying I didn't want her to look pretty but not like a crackhead, so I will give it bash but I don't know if i'll ever get round to the hair.

    Eddie Redmayne Sonja!
Just kidding. :) I love the body. Neck down is excellent. Great job on the proportions and design. Her face really does look like Eddie Redmayne though. http://whosdatedwho.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/Eddie-Redmayne-Whos-Dated-Who.jpeg
