Is there any recent video available showing an artist using the program ? I keep thinking that I really should dive into Nvil/Voidworld but I keep forgetting to do so because there isn't much coverage of it ...
Just to be clear - I am not talking about narrated tutorials explaining which button to press to perform a given action. I am much more interested in "over the shoulder" videos, simply offering sneak peaks at the workflow habits of a skilled artist using Nvil efficiently.
Something like this (but obviously not as accelerated) :

I wish there is. But sorry there is none that I know of.
Summary of changes:

I was interested in another streamlined modeling tool as Max has been cluttered for a while and Nvil picked up my interest. The thing is like pior has said, it would be nice to see a decent artist using it, so we know whether or not its more efficient then Max/Maya.
Why do you not have a free up to date version with limited features? You are doing incredible work updating Nvil and such but to be honest the marketing and user base is poorly supported.
I just tried the old Voidworld version. The program has so much potential. Everything looks fantastic, accessible and uncluttered.
Your pouring out so much effort to deaf ears. I would love to see a program like this be the successful underdog that smashes larger modeling apps. You need to reach out with this, if people saw how fast it can work they would ditch Autodesk crap. You had tons of interest in your previous thread. What happened?
I also think that you should stop posting a lot on changes in this thread. That should be for customers who have purchased it which is already on your site. It's like your spamming this thread and your not getting any replies. You should post what major changes you have done quarterly or such. I would love to be using Nvil as my main modeling application instead of Max.
If you want a larger user base then you need to work on your marketing, period.
I really want to give this a go since seeing Sandu's work in the hard surface challenge. However the lack of video material, recordings and/or the absence of atleast an up to date trial/free version makes it very off putting.
You're pouring so much time into this yet there's no way for people to get hands on and test the features, that is unless they purchase it outright. But that's a gamble...
Your program, your lively hood - but as said, it's upon deaf ears because none of us can really judge it for ourselves. I am for one very interested in this program, but as an arts student I can't be shelling money out that I don't have on something I don't know.
the absence of atleast an up to date trial/free version makes it very off putting.
Its not apparent at first glance, but every version he links is a trial if you dont enter in a product key.
I agree though that its a bit of a shame to see Nvil not get more attention. In cases like this it might not be a bad idea to look for a publisher or someone to act as one. Heck maybe Eat3d is interested in that kind of area outside of video publishing.
Hi guys! You can get the latest build/trial(just click the x on the key input window) there. You will not be able to export large poly objects but you can use every feature in it and be able to learn it.
cookedpeanut - At the moment it is not his lively hood. He has a job aside from his work on the program. Who knows what the future will hold for this nifty program that was made with great feedback from the polycount community and others. Big props to the dev.
I started with the help file and the forum where most question I could think of were already answered.
You will have to memorize features and use the streamline search for most of the "hidden" yet awesome features.
Be a little patient with the app while learning it and I'm sure it will become quite enjoyable.
Sandu, while looking at your work I was incredibly impressed by the cleanliness of your meshes and the presentation. Would you say NVil directly attributed to the results or would you say it's your own experience. Of-course I don't mean whether it's a one-click wonder program, but does it offer tools that are better than some of the big-name programs or does it offer more workability for a hardsurface/subd modeller.
The above is not meant as an insult I probably haven't said it right, I mean your ability is apparent - I'm just interested in what it has to offer that would make me change from 3DSMax/Blender...
Well the way you approach the modeling of an object has to do with experience. After modeling a fair amount of 3d models you plan out things better.
Well the program has 3 point lighting system for the viewport so I just used that.
It offers the necessary tools for modeling. The thing I like is the workflow the streamline tools have to offer like on the fly component constrains, chamfering with different profiles, quadcaping etc. You will have to see for yourself.
Like I said in a previous post I use it at the moment for the hs challenge here. For HS I think it is quite good. It is still in development so it can't compare with the big-names in lots of aspects.
I would say stick to 3dsMax/Blender for the obvious reasons(big names ) and that they are more complete packages. Maybe augment your modeling experience with nvil. Try it out!
This could be NVils chance to seize the market within the next 24 months. Comon guys do something!! Start handing licenses out to professional artists to make videos about it. There are so many artists here that could literally make NVil blow up on the market.
