Wow, there are some really awesome WIP's for this contest. I don't do any character modeling/animating during my day job but this is a great opportunity to try something different. I'm going to take a stab at an Ogre type character with some some type of costume I haven't decided on yet. Here are some quick sketches.

Just started figuring out the displacement process in Houdini. It's pretty fast and awesome
This is just a 4k .exr file displacing some simple geometry with some noise added in.

I've decided to go into a simpler direction, I think I was biting off more than I could chew. I am using the same mesh I created in previous posts, but I am going to create a more traditional costume of everyday garments. Here is the base mesh rendered in Houdini.

I went through the Aut-Rig process on the Mixamo site, and I have to say it was really easy and painless Nice job Mixamo! I've decided to do a knife attack scene, and I applied the motions accordingly from the Mixamo site. Here is a Flipbook rendered from Houdini:

Cool pants sim! Are you going to add some fat jiggle, around his belly or man boobs?

Hi Jim, I actually did take the mesh into Maya and added some muscles to give some jiggle, but it seems to get lost in this video. I'll have to post one of it. In the meantime here is a test of a shirt and tie....still learning the cloth simulator. I'm probably not going to win anything but I'm enjoying the ride

You can do the jiggle in Houdini - that's what I've done, it's pretty easy.

Just another WIP link. I still need to add shoes, a weapon, eyeballs, and texture everything, but I think I am done simulating the cloth. I am happy with how it turned out

I love Houdini! The procedural workflow allowed me to fix a lot of mistakes due to my lack of cloth simulation knowledge. Here is a screenshot of my progress.
