Hello,
I'm planning to take part in the monthly noob environment challenge over in the General discussion thread but wanted to do a bit of research into it before i started.
I've been looking for information on how to plan an environment that would be eventually imported into a game engine, in my case it'll be 3Ds Max to UDK. This will be my first time ever using a game engine so I'd like to know how I should plan my environment.
Is there any special way that I should be doing it? is there a certain grid size i should be following etc, and is there any method i should follow that everyone else does? I know i should use a modular approach to some parts but unsure of what else I'd need to know
I've only ever worked in max and never exported stuff out, except for when using zbrush.
Any help for a noob would be greatly appreciated
