Hi guys, I recently got a new portfolio up and running, with some fancy pants menu systems. Some people found that it didn't work on their browsers, so I decided to go right back to basics and start a new portfolio. I opted to use Blogger so I can easily update it with new works as my web design skills are limited. I'm thinking its pretty much finished other than adding some new images and getting my contact details splattered all over it. Any crits or suggestions for improvements would be much appreciated! Thanks for looking.

Portfolio/sketches as your splash page seems redundant. Just make everything go to your portfolio. Your sketches seems like the sketches page are ZBrush sketches (assuming speedsculpts?) so just put those at the bottom of your portfolio page or leave them in a blog or off until you finish them.

Otherwise there's a lot of scrolling. You have 1 piece broken up into multiple images that doesn't show much details. Posed shot, then a shot with wireframe, no diffuse (only normal or whatever), and flats, and then a shot of the sculpt (or high res). That should be it. Not 4-5 images for each character. 3 tops and I would even find a way to condense that into 1-2 images. Less clicking/scrolling for the viewer to gauge your current abilities and skill set is the goal here.

And change the about to resume. The interview is for getting to know more about you.

Your images use a really dark background color and the actual website color is much lighter. Just a personal preference but I would reduce it. That has the effect of making things look smaller. Speaking of smaller your images are really narrow. You could stand to have a uniform screenshot size (near common screen res).

Maybe 1024 range at least? Myself if I redid my site and work renders, etc I would make them all 1920 wide and scale down or something. Keep in mind most everyone has widescreen monitors at places you're going to applying too.

Nice designs, though I wish the images were larger. I found myself wanting to look at the texture work closer. I'd scrap the female study, it isn't one of your best. I know its just a sketch but it doesn't add to the work you have in your folio. Presentation looks good also. If you are sculpting any of these characters using zbrush, I'd add a high res shot in here also.

it would be good if the images were slightly larger on my screen in the default view before clicking them to make the image viewer pop up, I don't know if that's a limitation of the blog website or what, but for example, on my 1080p monitor, your female anatomy image takes up less than a third of vertical screen space. Also, some people tend to not like image viewers too much, it's usually better to just make it open as an image, that way people can open them in tabs etc

There are some weird things going on with the anatomy of that female study, she looks very masculine and has quite a few anatomy problems

I like the work, the only thing that is bugging me about blog sites are the size of the images that show up, they are smaller than you actually have them when I view them in that slide show gallery.

If I copy image address and paste them into the address bar I get a bigger image that I enjoy viewing a lot more than using the gallery.

    Edit:
Seems i echoed other comments but yea copy image address and you will get the bigger images.
