Hey i've been lurking around for a while and finally decided to post.
I'm quite new to 3D modelling in general and am inspired by all the amazing work by the artists on this site.
I've decided to start creating content for the DOTA 2 workshop after seeing the incredible items created during the polycount competition.
Over the past couple of weeks i've been learning Z-Brush and about 5 days ago I started creating my first item for the workshop is the result:

I made many mistakes with this model. Most of them originated from deciding to leave the connecting chain mesh in (not understanding how the physics of it worked) and being left with less than 70 polygon to work with but not realising how much more difficult that would make it.
The colour of the weapon doesnt fit the style of the hero very well.
I think if I had planned and conceptualised better I could have made a better model.
I have learnt quite a lot from the whole process and will bring that knowledge to the next workshop item I work on. Any input on this item is greatly appreciated though.
