I'm finally starting a journal/sketchbook after all these years. Feel free to post in here with crits or comments.
To start things off, here's an Orc head I recently quick-sculpted in Zbrush for practice. I started out with a sphere and used Dynamesh to get to this result. Total time: 2 hours.

Thanks for the motivating words Crystel. Bird creatures are awesome and you have set the bar.
I took the feedback to heart, and updated it with version 2.0. Additional 1.5 hours spent. I changed a few things around that weren't in anyone's feedback as well. I changed the neck waddle to be at the base of the beak, which gives the entire beak a more tapered look. I also changed the length of some spikes and added a few smaller ones.
And thanks to a friend here at work, a small print from his MakerBot. Better pictures to come soon if we make a larger print.
Subbed!!!
@Crystel: That's so humbling that other artists looked at my stuff as inspiration. Back in the GA days I had more free time for contests and things of that nature. These days I have much more work responsibility, wife and 2 kids, and a commute that gets longer and longer due to bad traffic in the LA area. My free time is practically non-existent, and I don't like staying up until 3AM anymore. I bought a tablet PC so I could do art on the go. I did half of this Draligan update while watching my daughter bowling at a birthday party. I'm determined to get more time for my art. My skills have definitely degraded a little due to life's responsibilities.
That's also the great thing about art: The source of inspiration changes all the time. I once inspired you, now you inspire me. Jacque's work also inspires me, and that boy was my underling back in the day!
