I'm trying to export one frame out of a dynamic animation in Maya to use as a static mesh in UDK. I've tried exporting the selection several different ways, but it keeps only exporting the first frame. Any ideas?
I'm not sure what it would be called in Maya, but in Max it is called Snapshot http://docs.autodesk.com/3DSMAX/15/ENU/3ds-Max-Help/index.html The help file seems to say that it's for animation, but I believe I've used it before to grab a mesh mid animation and duplicate it. Once you have the new object with its deformations you can export it normally and separate from your animated piece.
Actually just figured it out. It's similar to that, but basically just deleting the history on the duplicated model. This removes the animation and leaves the single frame. Thanks for the help!

Maybe someone knows the Maya equivalent.
