Sorry If a thread has already been made on this, or If it should go somewhere else but - Are they any 'rules' on using someone else artwork for a sculpt?
I emailed someone a long time ago asking If I could make a sculpt from their concept art but they never got back to me.
Would or wouldn't I be doing any harm as long as I clearly state that the design is not mine? If this makes any sense haha.
- Cheers

If it was commercial then the artist probably doesn't have the right to tell you that you can use it to begin with. Personal arts a different story.
If you do use someones concept credit them in your final image.
I let someone here use one of my concepts a while ago and they put my name in the wip thread then when the finished it and put it in their portfolio mentions of me were nowhere to be found.
I felt kind of disrespected and it irks me to see people doing it all over the place here with other concept artists.
Maybe I'm just overly sensitive though.
@bibendum - Its just for fun really, the artist will definitely get credited in all images. But I think Lroy meant 'commercial' as if you were to use the concept intending to sell the final sculpt. Which i aren't (obviously).
