Displacement map issue with my own UVs!!

Hi,

I hoping one of you many knowledgeable people can help me.

I've created a model in 3Ds max low poly, exported to zbrush and sculpted, goZ back to max and made my Uvs and exported back with goZ (All good so far).

Now the issue I've gone to bake my displacement map, selected the correct options in smooth subd, flip v and the other option (adaptive I think) and put my model to the lowest subd and hit create. After in the preview window it shows my uv map and the displacement on it. Only issue it's the lowest subd on it on the highest. If I go to uv texture and setting and hit one of the uv tile options then back to displacement and create the map it works!! But it's in the squares that I can't then use in Photoshop :(. Why won't it work with my uv map?!?

Any help please

Thank you

Are you baking you displacement maps in zbrush? I have had nothing but issues with how zbrush makes them personally, so maybe try another program?

Thanks for ur reply, No I'm not trying to bake it, I'm just trying to get it to make the correct map so I can take that into 3D max or photoshop. (This wont be a game model, so not looking to bake it).
