I don't really see any errors, what map type are you baking? Normals? Diffuse? Lightmaps? AO? Color Masks?
What baker in what App? If you're referring to the weird reds in your padding, that's a Mental Ray issue in Max for example that cannot be solved, etc.
Thank you for the replies. I uploaded my AO bake instead it's clearer. The circled areas( and rectangle) are what confuses me. Why am I getting those edgy dark line artifacts. They show up in all my maps . Am I aligning my geo improperly? They seem like projection errors rather than an anti aliasing problem Thank you very much. Avi
You baked the AO in Max through Mental ray? It usually produces streaky bad padding like that, as Ace-Angel mentioned. I couldn't tell you why, but it's a really dumb bug. Try baking AO with scanline or xnormal.
I'm using a cage with projection. I seem to have solved that problem (I think :poly122:) it had to do with not tapering my HP and LP enough. I.E there was nothing for the high poly to project on to the low poly from a top down view. The next problem is, I am really confused where to use chamfers on my low poly. I'm getting ugly seams and it seems as if I'm just not understanding proper topology for Normal Mapping. Also I think my topology is just plain ole bad. Thanks for your help I know your busy Avi
