With over 250 artists and technical directors and the most up to date resources available, we bring the vision to both major Hollywood studios and independent producers to life in a wide array of formats: theatrical features, television, DVDs, shorts and game cinematics.JOB TITLE: CompositorDEPARTMENT: Lighting/CompositingREPORTS TO: Lighting Supervisor & Head of Lighting/CompositingPOSITION OVERVIEWThe Compositor works closely with Lighting/Compositing Supervisor and Compositing Lead to design, develop and produce digital composites according to schedule, ensures resolution of technical issues, and makes certain that all quality standards are achieved and meet rendering criteria. This role is required to collaborate with members of other departments as necessary. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES· Ensure that production shots are completed according to schedule· Communicate timeline and delivery schedule issues to the appropriate stakeholder(s)· Ensure resolution of technical issues· Troubleshoot and debug shot problems· Escalate technical issues as required· Make certain that all quality standards are achieved, that shot continuity is maintained, and that shots meet rendering criteria· Collaborate with members of other departments as necessary to ensure proper completion of shots· Ensure efficient organization of individual work/files· Remain current and up-to-date in lighting techniques through industry research and training· Perform additional duties as requiredREQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE· At least three years experience as a Compositor (CG feature film experience preferred)· Proven understanding of the entire compositing process (experience using Digital Fusion and Nuke)· Experience with Maya is an asset· General understanding of animation styles and techniques as well as a basic comprehension of animation production for film and/or television· Good creative and technical problem solving skills· Ability to learn quickly and to comprehend custom in-house production tools· Ability to take direction from various levels of individuals· Good organizational skills with a strong attention for detail· Strong communication skills with the ability to convey creative and technical thoughts and ideas to others· Good teamwork skills· Demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize, and to handle production- and deadline-related pressures as well· Knowledge of MEL scripting a plusArc Productions is located at 230 Richmond St. East, Toronto, Ontario M5A 1P4 CanadaPlease apply at our website @ http://www.arcproductions.com/careers
